The media world is always changing, improving and becoming more widely used. It's a world that will never be the same for long and will continue helping businesses thrive, taking advertising to a new level, and making information more accessible and easier to share than ever before. In five years the print medium of communication will be nearly obsolete. Even today, newspapers and magazines are turning mostly to their online platforms rather than on actual print copies. It is becoming a waste of money and resources to print the information, since many consumers prefer to read the content online. With that said, in five years people will be getting the majority of their information from not only media in general but more specifically, social media. With the rise of Facebook over the past decade, social media has grown at an astonishing rate. Social media is not only a way to connect with friends, but, according to Brian Solis it's, "A shift in how people discover, read, and share news and information and content. It's a fusion of sociology and technology, transforming monologue into dialogue".

Twitter has become a very popular source of information even though some of the information is not accurate. This false information is one of the large problems with trusting social media as a reliable source of information. However, this is by far the quickest way to share information, which is why there are so many users and why many businesses are taking advantage of the advertising possibilities. News used to travel by word of mouth and from acquaintances or friends, but social media has taken that 'word of mouth' idea and expanded. So what one person "Tweets" can now be shared to other users immediately. This is the future of information, and consumers and businesses alike will be relying heavily on this medium in the next five years.
